This is my
blog when I first started running. In one year I will have gone from mile zero to 26.2 miles. To my friends who are getting into running: you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to. You CAN do that 1/2 marathon in a year. I promise. And-as we see from
this blog I hated training for a while. MONTHS AND MONTHS of agnoy-get's better. I laugh every time I look at past blogs. In a blog August..AUGUST 21-was the first time I ran 5 miles. 4 months later I ran 20. There were and still are moments when I question my vain of existence while running. And sometimes I DEEPLY ponder stepping in front of that car passing by. And then sometimes I just burst out with my arms going crazy praising God with my music for getting to TRULY experience life. I fully believe 21 was the first year I lived life to the fullest. I have and am taking every chance possible.
So-with that I am running a FULL marathon JANUARY 11....let's say that again. I will be an official marathongirl in a little over a week.

It's as official as it gets. |
I ran my last longest run on the beach-a spontaneous 20 miles, that were incredibly brutal. I fought every battle known in my life during that run, I wasn't sure if I would win. But I came out with victory y'all.
I have decided that those going for any type of half-marathon and marathon are a different breed of people. There is so much involved in a simple sticker on a car, or a jewel on a necklace. This picture embodies it perfectly.
Now it's time to taper...I feel the need to apologize in advance for anything that comes out of my mouth.
I've loved being at home with fellow marathon training friends. I have enjoyed the numerous runs with these girls, and I have been inspired, and encouraged through it all with them.
With the marathon a little over a week away, I am confident that I am going to finish. Probably in the worst pain known to mankind because of my knees, but it happens. After mile 10 it's just a battle to the finish usually, so I am praying that the first 13 are so great the next 13 will be not as awful as imagined. Here's to the next week and a half of taper life!
